Waiting Game On! For the Baby to come out

Spending hours thinking about you, wondering who you will be and how you will take after.

Though we have heard your strong heartbeat and seen pictures of you through ultrasound still, this wait for you feels like picking up someone from the airport – where you do not know who they are and what time the flight will arrive.

I am sure you’re feeling lock inside the compact bag for many months now; hands and legs all tied up, can’t move around, and over here we are also in lock-down where smiles are hidden behind the mask, unable to move out of the house as a result of this 2nd wave of Corona.

We are in such time, even the anti-virus of the laptop starts scanning on its own the moment we sneezed in front of it. In essence, we are not stuck, we are safe at home just the way I am keeping you safe in my womb.

Your tiny feet, small fingers, lovely smile, all these cute little things await us. Hence we are giving you notice to vacate the premises which belong to me in next 30 days because your 9 months lease will be over soon and we have made other living agreements for you where you’ll have room to stretch, no more one-man football team and kickboxing matches, you will have more teammates to play and talk.

Part of me and I am sure you too are elated that we are finally reaching where we both can breathe freely. I would soon be able to move again, bend, jump, run, dance, and laugh again (without peeing). And wishing I can sleep nicely because you would no more be using my tummy as your bouncing house.

We are also nervous for the moment when we will hold you in our arms and see our mini-me.

Special thanks to my Co-sister Nishita Jain for this beautiful homage in caricature language! :-*
